Wind Loading
JPF use BS6399 to calculate the wind pressure for any given site in the UK, we may use an extruders ready reckoning chart which gives a more conservative design. The windload is often the more dominant force and should be taken into consideration acting both alone and con currently with any other loadings that may be applied to the building.
The wind load can be worse if the local conditions are condusive to accelerating the wind by small surrounding structures or obstructions, like wise shelter can be given by the local conditions.
