The capacity of pedestrians with or without trolleys through a revolving door is always difficult to assess as it depends on not only the type of the revolving door, the size of the revolving door or the speed of the revolving door. It depends very much more on the type of traffic:

• Supermarket trolleys of different size. • Airport luggage trolleys. • Wheel chairs. • High percentage of disabled people in hospitals etc. • Many children. • Trained traffic in office etc. • Traffic with hand luggage, suitcases, etc. And the traffic flow: • Cross traffic close to the entrance. • The environment both outside and inside of the door. • Speed/stress of the traffic. • Continues flow or very fluctuating traffic.

It is however very important to note that the figures although they are conservative and in most cases during peakhours can be much higher, there are circumstances where these figures also could be too high.

The figures should be used as indications after the circumstances mentioned above should be taken into account when calculating.

The figures are based on approx. 750 mm per second peripherical speed (most regulations stipulate 1000 mm per second as maximum speed, but there are regulations with 750 mm per second). The figures are based on that 85% of a 2-winger and 90% of a 3/4-wingers area can be utilised.

It is calculated approx. 0,7 square metre per person.

The capacity for trolleys is based on approx. 2-3 persons per trolley. The figures are slightly lower than some of the competitors indications, but there are several cases where the competitors revolving
