There are more than 42,000 people in the UK under 65 with dementia.
Alzheimer’s Society is the UK’s leading dementia charity. They provide information and support, improve care, fund research and create lasting change for people affected by dementia.
On the 14th June 2018, JPF took part in the annual Cupcake baking day!
We’re giving a huge shout out to all of our fantastic bakers (and fakers) and a big thanks to everyone who took part and did their bit by eating as many cupcakes as possible for the Alzheimer’s Society.
This year we raised a grand total of £203.68, which will go towards supporting those battling with Alzheimer’s. The team has raised enough money to pay for one of their National Dementia Helpline Advisors to provide 10 hours of crucial support to people affected by dementia.
What is Alzheimer’s disease?
Alzheimer’s disease is the most common cause of dementia. The word dementia describes a set of symptoms that can include memory loss and difficulties with thinking, problem-solving or language. These symptoms occur when the brain is damaged by certain diseases, including Alzheimer’s disease.
