Harry Fairclough Construction were commissioned to refurbish facilities at Wistaston Academy Primary and Nursery School based in Crewe, Cheshire. Working alongside architects, Weightman and Bullann, The JPF Group joined the team to provide glazing expertise for the ambitious refurbishment project. The project consisted of a complete refurbishment of the school fenestration. The project involved extracting, removing, and disposing of all existing windows and doors and supplying and installing new fenestration for the whole building. In total, we supplied and installed 9 windows, fire exit doors, automatic entrance doors and several sections of curtain walling screens. The windows, doors and curtain walling was powder coated in stylish blue-grey matte finish. This provides a modern look to the school building whilst remaining in keeping with the original aesthetic. Harry Fairclough Construction decided to use The JPF Group because of our extensive aluminium knowledge, and experience working in a school environment.

High Quality Products

For the project, we used high quality products from Comar Architectural Aluminium Systems to supply the aluminium profiles from which we fabricated the bespoke products to fit the project specifications. Comar have an excellent industry reputation and provide an attractive aesthetic to any building. The exterior of the windows and doors was finished with a stylish and contemporary light blue/ grey powder coating. The windows, doors, and curtain walling are all durable and weather resistant, providing long lasting protection against the elements. They also provide excellent levels of security and energy efficiency for a safer, eco-friendly building.

Sustainaible & Environmentally Friendly Construction

The new aluminium glazing is made from thermally efficient Comar profiles. This brings the building’s energy performance rating in line with industry requirements. All the materials used in the project meet the required standards for fire safety and building security. When working on a public building, particularly a school, safety is always paramount. The installation at Wistaston Academy was completed to an extremely high standard and the students and staff are now enjoying the benefits of a safe and modern environment.

Thanks to our high performing products, the academy will now enjoy a modern learning space and save much-needed funding on reduced energy bills. The building now easily exceeds energy efficiency standards, helping to reduce energy consumption, and protect the environment. The project was completed on schedule and to the consistently high standard of all JPF Group installations.
