Are you the headteacher of a school or college? Are you considering any refurbishments for your building or premises? Do you know the regulations for glazing installations in schools? Would you like expert advice on specifying the right windows and doors for your project? If you’ve answered yes to any of these questions, JPF Systems can help you to find the best solution for your renovation plans.

School double glazing advice for 2018

Building Regulations standards and Health and Safety specifications are constantly being reviewed. To keep up with current requirements, it’s important to consult an expert. At JPF Systems, we have extensive experience working on educational establishments. Therefore, it is imperative for us as a company, to stay abreast of any regulatory changes. If you’re installing new windows and doors in 2018, there are several things to consider.

The Health and Safety at Work Act (1974) Regulation 14 requires all glazing at low level (below 1500mm in a door or adjacent to a door, or 800mm in a window) to comply with safety glass standards as stated in Building Regulations Approved Document K. Safety, laminated, or toughened glass must have a British Standards BS6206 kitemark embellished on the surface. Since 1st April 2002, Building Regulations have affected all replacement glazing, both in commercial and domestic installations.
